Arrow S1 E6 - 'Legacies' Review
There's Always One Moment When You Can Turn It All Around.
This episode is the first time Oliver truly strayed from the List. He goes after a group of bank robbers, known as The Royal Flush Gang, because his father fired one of the men in the gang. Tommy meanwhile throws Laurel a fundraiser and they grow closer together. Thea wanted Tommy to pick her. The episode is fun, if a bit basic. Moira and Oliver grow closer at the end. The pattern of one off episodes is growing stale and also the main plotline needs a kick in the balls. Good to see a comic villain group and a sad, reality grounded tale surrounding their circumstances. In the past, having met Fyers last episode, Oliver trips and debates with his father, eventually vowing to stay alive to avenge him.
STARRING: The Royal Flush Gang
EASTER EGGS: - The masks that the Reston family wore during their bank robberies had the markings of the ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace of spades. This is in reference to The Royal Flush Gang, a criminal group from the DC comics that have come into conflict with numerous DC superheroes
- When one of the Starling Police officers was updating the intelligence about the masked robbers to Detective Lance, he mentioned how they have moved from Keystone City. This the home of two heroes known as The Flash, Jay Garrick, the original, and Wally West, the third to be The Flash
- When Tommy was trying to entice Laurel into dating him, he mentioned a helicopter ride to Coast City, which is the primary residence of the Green Lantern, Hal Jordan
- Laurel mentions Stagg Industries is withdrawing its support for the CNRI. Stagg Industries is Simon Stagg's company; he appears in The Flash (2014)
- When Thea tries to kiss Tommy, he rejects her and tells her she is like a little sister to him. This is a foreshadow to Tommy's father Malcom revealing that Thea is his biological daughter, therefore actually making Thea Tommy's half sister.
RATING: 7.4/10
